SUMMARY:Dispute Resolution Section Annual Mediation Tournament 2024
DESCRIPTION:I am pleased to announce that the New York State Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section has launched its 2024 Mediation Tournament\, and it is a complete sellout\, with over twenty teams from across the country participating. The Tournament held its inaugural event in March of 2019\, and this year’s Tournament is scheduled for March 22 and 23\, 2024\, at the offices of Hogan Lovells US LLP in New York City and is open to law schools and LLM students nationwide. \nThe Tournament is unique in that it enables three-member teams of law students to develop and display both advanced mediation and advocacy skills while participating as mediators\, advocates\, and in-house client representatives. A variety of cash prizes are awarded to the winning team and mediator\, as well as an award for the best mediation statement. This is a wonderful opportunity for the students to earn valuable mediation experience\, receive evaluations of their skills from some of the most respected experts in the field\, and network with top industry legal talents. \nA portion of the Tournament will also be hosted by the American Arbitration Association and Barnes & Thornburg LLP. Tournament sponsors include Moritt Hock & Hamroff LLP\, Hogan Lovells US LLP\, Barnes & Thornburg LLP\, and the American Arbitration Association.
