Arbitration is a process where parties to a contract engaged in a dispute seek an out-of-court resolution by an impartial arbitrator or panel of arbitrators. Whereas court proceedings are open to the public, arbitrations are private proceedings and are often faster and more cost-effective than litigation. Bart J. Eagle, who has represented parties in arbitrations for many years, also serves as an arbitrator and is a member of the American Arbitration Association’s roster of arbitrators.
As an arbitrator, Mr. Eagle’s cases have included disputes involving claims under the Electronic Funds Transfer Act; disputes resulting from commercial lending arrangements; disputes concerning consumer debt; claims under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act; and claims of breach of contract, unjust enrichment, tortious interference with contract, breach of the duty of good faith and fair dealing, and fraud .
